MenaITech Sponsors King Abdullah II Award Ceremony for Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship

MenaITech, the regional leading company specialized in building and deploying human resources applications, sponsored King Abdullah II Award Ceremony for Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship that took place in Royal Cultural Center last week.

MenaITech’s CEO, Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh said, “Our sponsorship of the award stems from our social responsibility and commitment to assist emerging entrepreneurs in promoting their projects by providing them with the needed financial and technical support. In return, this will contribute to pushing forward the national development process, by limiting poverty and reducing unemployment.”

“We are delighted to foster this nationwide initiative which reflects the vision and aspirations of His Majesty King Abdullah II to develop the small and medium-sized enterprise sector through encouraging workers to engage in self-employment projects, to exploit potential, and improve economic development,” Hawamdeh added.

On his part, General Director of the Development and Employment Fund, Mr. Omar Al Omari, praised MenaITech’s participation, highlighting its effective role in encouraging innovative entrepreneurs to deploy their creative ideas and translate them into successful economic projects that would serve qualified academic and professional workers.

Al Omari also stressed the importance of this initiative in offering new job openings, enhancing economic development, and promoting self-employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.

It is worth mentioning that the seventh session of King Abdullah II Award for Self Employment and Entrepreneurship has witnessed a substantial increase in the value and number of tentative projects which grew from just 150 ventures in the first session in 2005 to more than 2227 projects in 2011.

Moreover, the Prime Minister’ representative, the Minister of Labor Dr. Mahir Al Wakid, distributed the awards for eligible applicants for the categories of best home-based advanced project, best candidate intermediary institutions project, best project in terms of high growth in capital, and the best family business category.
