MenaITech cosponsors Microsoft Imagine Cup for the 3rd Consecutive Year

AMMAN— In implementation of its strategy to support the youth, entrepreneurship and innovation, MenaITech and its investment arm “MenaIP” were the Innovation Partner of Microsoft Imagine Cup for the 3rd Consecutive Year.

Organized by “Microsoft”, the activity took place at the King Hussein Business Park last Tuesday and was attended by Azzam Sleit, Minister of Information Technology and Communication on behalf of HM Queen Rania.

This is the third time for MenaITech to sponsor the Imagine Cup, to ensure the importance of supporting the Youth to demonstrate their capabilities, and use them to come up with pioneering ideas in the ICT sector that is witnessing accelerating developments.

In addition to sponsorship, Bashar Hawamdeh, MenaITech CEO was a member of the jury in the contests that led to the discovery of several pioneering ideas and projects.

Targeting students between the ages of 16 and 26, Imagine Cup is geared towards encouraging and empowering students to make a change.

It is considered the largest contest globally that supports innovative students.

Commenting on the contest, Hawamdeh stressed the importance of intellectual property for the ideas developed by the youth and their innovation, noting that having distinguished ideas is one of the factors that lead to success of ideas. In addition, transforming a project into a productive one helps contribute to improving economic and social status of owners of these ideas and the people around.
