MenaITech Imagine Cup 2016 Partner for the Fifth Year

MenaITech have announced their sponsorship of the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016 for the fifth year running.

Microsoft have announced the names of the winners last week, under the patronage of Her Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Majd Shweikeh, in lieu of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, which were “The A Team”, “Warriors” and “Fire”.

A pioneer company in creating electronic solutions and human resource management systems, MenaITech’s sponsorship for the fifth year in a row comes from its belief in the importance of supporting and nurturing innovation and pioneering in the IT field, which is considered the most important capital in the building of a strong economy based on knowledge.

Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh, CEO of MenaITech , who had participated in the last assessment jury has said that the reason behind the continued support and sponsorship of The Imagine Cup is due to this contest’s continued attraction of innovative Jordanian youth who need the optimal guidance for their efforts in order to create technological products and solutions as Jordanian intellectual property.

He added that the royal sponsorship this contest receives is a sign and message to everyone that the Jordanian human resource capital is what we should invest in, especially in the innovative ideas of youth in the technology sector, seeing as they add high value to the kingdom at all levels.

Hawamdeh added that the youth have surprised us as usual with their ideas and efforts that they had brought to the competition, indicating that the level of quality we witness every year is in increase: a reflection of the improvement in the effect of technology on education and youth.

The competition had students aged 16 – 26 compete, where 50 teams of university students contended within 3 categories to invent solutions to use technology in solving many social issues and the enrichment of individual lives, and that by using the latest technical platforms by Microsoft. The winning teams have gained the opportunity to represent Jordan in the Arab stage of the contest to be held this year in Egypt.
