MenaITech reinforces the importance of supporting creativity and entrepreneurship among youth by participating in sponsoring the Imagine Cup for the fourth consecutive year.
Amman- MenaITech – the regional company specialized in building and deploying human resources applications – has stressed the importance of supporting the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity among youth from schools and universities, and helping them in putting their abilities to use to come up with innovative ideas and creations. Along with its investment arm MenaIP, MenaITech has participated in sponsoring Imagine Cup 2015 that was organized by Microsoft Jordan under the patronage of HRH Queen Rania Al-Adbullah.
MenaITech took part as the innovation accelerator partner in the Imagine Cup 2015 for the fourth year in a row. Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh, MenaITech’s CEO was also on the judging panel that included a number of experts and specialists in business entrepreneurship.
In a celebration organized by Microsoft Jordan at the King Hussein Business Park, prizes were distributed by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Majd Shweikeh, with the attendance of HRH Princess Sumaya Bint Al-Hassan, and the General Manager of Microsoft in the MENA region and Pakistan, Layla Sarhan, along with Microsoft Jordan’s General Manager Hussein Malhas.
The program that is considered the largest in the world in the field of technology for students ranging from 12-26 years old, has witnessed competition between 60 teams within 3 categories, to come up with solutions for using technology in treating many social issues to enrich the quality of life, using Microsoft’s newest technical platforms.
MenaITech’s CEO, Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh stated that the participation of the company and its sponsorship for this competition for the 4th consecutive year comes from its faith in the Jordanian youth’s capabilities and skills, as well as their innovative ideas that light the future for us, hoping that the Jordanian Youth proves a significant and outstanding presence in this competition’s world edition after their qualification.
Hawamdeh also stated that the company’s policy focuses on supporting creativity, intellectual property, and entrepreneurial projects in the communication and information technology fields, for what this does in supporting the national economy that is known for its limited natural resources, but wealth on the human resource side.
